Things to Know Before Buying Toilet Tissue Papers
Choosing and buying toilet tissue paper is a major task and should not be taken lightly. Considering its use in your daily life, you should get through the needed research before procuring the same. Rather than just gripping something beforehand as you find at the marketplace, study the features that make toilet paper high quality, the varieties available in the market, and the cost factor, and accordingly go for the paper rolls that fit your budget and necessity.
Strength
The strength of toilet tissue paper is one of the major criteria for choice while buying them. Always go for the strongest toilet paper that could be three times stronger than its weakest lots. A consistent and pragmatic way to evaluate the strength of your toilet paper is by examining its tearing ease and consistency alongside the perforated line. When stronger enough, it will slice from the dotted line evenly due to its resistance to puncturing from any other place.
Softness
The next factor is the softness of the tissue paper which should be evaluated by feeling the texture of the paper fiber. Mind that, the strength and softness of tissue paper should be aimed at producing absolute comfort, ease, and a feel of treatment when it’s used in the toilet room. The softest tissues are more pliable and faster dissolvable due to the type of ply texture.
Quality
Typically, the quality of toilet paper is also determined by considering the number of plies it has. Average quality issue papers contain one or two plies while premium standards come with 3 and 4 super thin layers. One-ply papers consisting of one single sheet are quite cost-effective options whereas two-ply toilet tissue papers are comparatively more expensive and three or four plies having numerous sheets are the costliest types.
Grade
Among three grades of toilet paper available in the market including low-grade, medium-grade, and premium grade, consider which one is suitable for you. As the name implies, low-grade tissues are made out of the lowest grade of paper, while medium quality contains two plies with superior texture plus strength and offers extra feel and softness. Premium grade is manufactured using the finest class of paper pulps and often contains wax and fragrance. Equally, Luxury tissues are quilted, treated with aloe, and specially perfumed. You can get them in the medicated form containing anti-bacterial chemicals.
Budget
When it comes to buying toilet tissue paper, considering your budget or depending on how much you can afford on monthly basis is a major decision-making factor. Notably, there is a considerable difference of prices between one-ply inexpensive low-grade papers, and medium-grade or premium and luxury grades. So, only after estimating your family’s rough consumption and your income level, you should go for the standard that you can pay for. However, if the paper is of very low quality, pretty thin, and easily breakable, then that might cost you more due to added usage and wastage while buying a medium-grade quality is highly recommended.
Be Wary of Wipes
Even if manufacturers advertise that wipes are easily disposable, safe for septic tanks, and don’t cause blockage but it’s always better to avoid wipes that are available in soft fabric types and don’t dissolve as original toilet tissues do. They are hard to crumble and clear up and may lead to a possible clogging of septic and cause sewage backup.
